Change of skin

Hi Guys,

Time sure flys quickly. Currently we have friends graduating from JC, third year in Poly and some even going for National Service...

I have to apologise for changing the blogskin to default. However I think it's the best solution in the worst situation. My reason being: we have post several tag boards but it was always delete when our blog gets to cold. Thus I think the default skin is doing its job as it provide the navigation "comment" on every post.

So bear with the plain skins and focus on its functions? LOL

Since I have put up this post, my next question is: "How are you guys doing?" Share it with us in the comment section. We definitely want to hear more from you guys.

So feel free to post. :)

tagboard prob.

hello there everyone.

in the previous post i said that the colors on the tagboard is a little bit funny and stuff.

so i guess somebody did the necessary changes. BUT something happened to it today when me and syam tried to access the board. so yea. whoever changed the code or watever, um, tag on my board on my blog. then hopefully i'll contact you and we can solve our tagboard problem as soon as possible.

okay. how have everyone been? i really hope that all of you would take some time off your busy schedule to blog here. if everyday, a different person will come here to blog, i think this place will not become dusty and rusty quickly.

alrite enough of all the unneeded whining and pleading and begging and the special hospitality given. i'm here to ask all of you these questions:

i hope it is cos i spent quite a long time doing it. from 3 pm til 7.45pm. the header above and wallpaper behind these texts nearly killed me. i need to know the answer alrite. i know that the tagboard is a bit rojak cos the colors doesn't match and stuff. sorry bout that. i dont have the password to that account so pls somebody pls change the font color and whatever rubbish is needed to be changed.

Has everyone forgotten how it felt the night before the 'O' level results were out?

Be thankful you only go through all that anxiety and dread once. I've had to live through it every year for the past three years. Next year makes four years. What luck.

I've been asking Ms Ng, my boss, to let me teach English at other levels for a change. Each time, she laughs off my requests. I have to hold the fort at Sec 4 because my dear colleagues, who are as qualified if not more so than me to take on graduating classes, are always conspiring to keep me there by getting pregnant and taking extended child-care leave. (I'll have my revenge soon enough, Mrs N and Mrs L.) Then there are those who decide to quit teaching or transfer to another school for whatever reasons. The long and short of it is that I seem to be doomed to teach the Sec 4s and to go through the trauma of pre-'O'-level results jitters every year.

Last year's experience is still fresh in my mind. I called Haikal the night before, asking him how he felt. I was anxious about how everyone would perform, but I was worried sick for him, and we all know why. After the call, I tried to go to bed, but all I got was an hour's worth of sleep and five hours of tossing and turning. I went to work bleary-eyed and irritable. I prayed fervently for good news.

The news was indeed good. Better than good, it was fantastic! We (i.e. the teachers) were thrilled. I couldn't wait to reveal the miracle that was his English grade to Haikal and give him the hug I promised to give. How wonderful to see smiles and laughter on so many faces, along with tears of joy and looks of relief. To have recovered decisively after the 2002 fiasco was a profound achievement for the school.

Now the rollercoaster begins again. I have no idea whether it will be a thrilling ride or a stunning disaster of (mental) derailment. I'm just praying for the best, once again.

Two Years Later

I said goodbye to the class at the end of 2004. The next time I saw everyone again was on the day the 'O' level results were released, in February last year. I have had two Sec 4 Express form classes since then, 4E2 2005 and the present 4E2. (Why is it always 4E2? I don't know. It just happened that way.) The class photo that I have on my desk, however, is the one taken when we were 3E2, in 2003. The candid shot.

I really love that photo.

It is a picture of innocence, capturing all of you before the weight of the upper secondary workload wore down your self-confidence. In that photo, everyone looks natural, smiling, grinning, smirking, laughing, making faces and gestures, striking poses, according to your characteristic selves. It is how I want to remember all of you.

These are the other pictures that I still keep in my thumb drive, for nostalgia's sake:

Never forget how you used to be able to laugh through all the hard times, and make other people's day with your sense of humour.

New beginnings

Time to wipe the dust off this blog and give it a new entry. Thta's my job today. Yadadadada. Just wanna tell all you guys- 4/2 peeps out there that irregardless of what you guys scored, we did a great job as a class. No doubt we went through some hardship but in the end, we left YISS as a class,with sweet memories nonetheless. Although we're now separated and may not be in the same schools after the JAE results are out, we'll remember each other for our strengths and weaknesses, 'saucy' rumours and the cool chalet outing we had together as a class. I know this sounds a bit late to say this but credit too should go to our teachers for nurturing us and inculcating our interest in school plus this idea of life long learning and all the moral education stuff. Haha. So here's a loud and public THANK YOU to all the teachers 'affliated' to 4E2. In the words of a famous star who played the leading role in a movie about a stinking ship that sunk in the end, "Never let go". Hopefully we'll be able to have another class outing soon, though we are in other schools. This post's starting yo sound long and boorish, so I'll log off from here. Bye guys. G'day.
